Power Techs was started during 1986 in Coimbatore city,state of Tamil Nadu as an authorized dealership for Ruston & MWM diesel engines, under the leadership of Mr C.V. Ramakrishnan, who had earlier experience in providing after sales service to constructional-Industrial  diesel engines.

M/s Greaves Cotton Ltd is one of the oldest and reputed manufactures of diesel engines and other engineering products in India. The organization was established in India in the year of 1859.
